SHE COMUNICATES ON AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT FREQUENCY

”

Starting new visual dialogues about the nature of the world, Paisley's artistic proposal is a manifesto against visual homogenization. Drawing attention to globalization's increasingly uncomfortable intimacy, her works are always already aware of the structures that build out our contemporary world. Her photographs concern the subjective, the intimate, and affect with the ultimate goal of consciousness. Interrupting the reproduction of institutional systems, her photos choose to instead honor those systems' by-products and means.
Her works range from traditional black and white documentary photography to hyper-magnified microscopic photography of organic forms. Through a deep consideration of scale, Paisley works through the concept of gaze to activate the viewer- situating them at the moment of encounter- and beyond the concept of gaze, calling the viewer to action.
The artist is not in a hurry; she seems to play with anticipation. She holds an entire universe of herself and explores it, tries to understand it, sections it, reviews it, creates with desires and pleasant expectation. She communicates on an entirely different frequency. Like constructing something, perhaps a new myth, surely a visual enchantment.
